I am sitting in terminal B of Dulles Airport once again, awaiting the flight to San Francisco. After my last flight experience I can’t say that I am enjoying the airport much, and find I want to sleep very badly. Of course, that may be because I have been up since 1am. Needless to say, now is a good time to go ahead and update the blog. I intended the blog to be about our happy memories, but a few weeks ago it wasn’t a very happy time we had coming over to England.
Mike was very excited to take his first flight. He was good on the flight as well and enjoyed seeing the world from the sky. He was polite and well behaved, and even cool and collected while I fussed over luggage and lines and asked him to keep up with me. We drove 3 ½ hours from West Virginia to Washington D.C. We had a lot of waiting. We sat on the floor of Dulles airport for three hours waiting for check in to open because we had to return the rental car at noon, with checkout not opening until 3. Then we waited an additional 4 hours for takeoff. The flight was about 6 1/2 hours, and then we were at the final hurdle....border patrol.
Sadly, we never made it through, and 30 hours after our journey began we dropped down on a Washington DC hotel mattress and went to sleep. I have a lot to say about this experience, but if you have nothing nice to say...

Change the subject! Well, now that the past is the past, I am sitting in Terminal B again, and flying to San Francisco, California, then boarding a plane to Las Vegas, where Neil and I will meet again. Tomorrow, we will be married, and we even have friends attending our wedding. While this was never the plan, I hope that our improvised arrangement will prove to be the best for both of us for a very long time.
